Starks returns home to Omaha.(45.11)

Post by niles08 » Mon Dec 21, 2020 2:17 pm

Jimmy Starks, Jr. is returning to the place where it all began and up until this season when he agreed to a 1-year contract with Las Vegas, the only place he had ever played. Starks has been traded back to Omaha after just 35 games with the Hustlers.

Starks had just 206 at bats last season, mostly against left-handed pitching subbing in for 1B Wilson Estrada. During that season he watched his triple slash suffer down to .209/.299/.383 but has rebounded a bit this year to .233/.331/.414, good for a 98 wRC+ for the season.

Starks made waves back in 2035 as a left-handed fielding shortstop in the BBA, at one point with scouts rating him at the position despite how rare of a situation it is. He spent 2036 in the same role before transitioning back into the outfield full time in 2037 and has found himself at 1B part of the past few seasons.

“We We’re sad to see Jimmy go last season, and we did offer him a contract in the off-season but things just didn’t work out at the time. It’s a privilege to bring Jimmy in for at least the rest of this season and hopefully help him capture a championship ring.” Said GM Justin Niles.

Heading to Las Vegas is minor league player Cheng-Ho Chicken Ji. Yes. That is a real name, and he was in our organization I guess.
