Lambert Snabel to lead Omaha coaching staff after this season?(45.03)

With the 2045 season just beginning, it’s worth pointing out that Omaha’s current manager William Cole has a contract that is set to expire at the end of this season and no extension has been announced.

Cole, who was given the reigns to Omaha with no prior coaching experience at any level, has compiled a respectable 140-120 winning percentage through his first 260 games, which would be good for 87 wins per season when averaged out to a 162 game season. While no rumors have come out regarding any extension talks, it is assumed Cole will be looking for a significant bump in compensation than his current salary of $142,000.

This leads some to question whether the team will just let him walk. After all, there isn’t much data to look back on when looking at how the Niles front office has handled managerial changes. The only other manager that the club had was Quentin Richardson, who was let go in mid 2043 after 17 seasons with the organization, and 13 seasons managing the BBA level club. After moving the club from Indianapolis to Omaha, Richardson made the playoffs 5 out of 11 times, and finishing with a record above .500 7 of those times.

What we’re saying is…don’t let a winning record discount the chances that Omaha lets Cole leave.

But who could replace him?

Many aren’t looking far down the list to notice that former pitcher Lambert Snabel has quickly risen up Omaha’s coaching ladder after starting in Short A in 2039. He was in AAA the past 3 seasons but was handed the pitching coach position this year at the BBA level. The team’s current ERA of 3.41 is good for 4th in the FL early on.

Could Snabel, who pitched for the club on 3 separate occasions be the new Cyclone manager in 2046?

It’s anybody’s guess right now.
