I am not sure how I feel about this entire thing. Part of me says that our team is worse, but part of me is excited that maybe this means it's a true team effort and if one player slumps the entire team won't since it's an evenly spread offense that isn't just reliant on Morales.
Last season, Omaha failed to have a 100 RBI batter last season for the first time since 2033. Emilio Morales finished last year with just 97 RBI’s after posting 9 consecutive seasons with at least 108, and 4 of which were over 150.

Morales who is on pace this season for just 74 runs batted in, is looking less likely by the day to ever top 100 RBI again in a season so with Morales being the one who drove in runs in past years, the team must now look elsewhere.

Currently, the club doesn’t have a single batter expected to drive in 100, which would duplicate the 2032-2033 seasons in which Omaha failed to have a single hitter drive in 100 runs. The difference between now and then however couldn't be further from the same.

In 2032, Omaha won 69 games at the tail end of a rebuild, where last season they won 72. In 2033, Omaha won 82 games, just missing the playoffs. This year, Omaha is on pace for 84 wins, but is still on the outside of the playoff conversation.

The 2033 team scored a total of 654 runs on the season, hitting 215 home runs, and walking 485 times. The leading RBI man was the before mentioned Emilio Morales, playing second base at the time, with 94 runs driven in. Behind him, 2 payers drove in 76 & 79 before finding a trio in the 50’s.

This season the team is on pace for roughly 700 runs scored, 300 home runs, and 400 walks. That would be nearly 50 runs more than the Omaha offense in 2032 which failed to make the playoffs however over 100 runs on average less than any team Omaha has taken into the postseason since the 2030 season when the Niles front office took over.

That is 6 batters with season RBI’s over 70, compared to just 3 in the 2033 season when Omaha won 82 games. It is clearly a much more “team effort” with everyone contributing than in prior years. Even in 2036, during Omaha's team record season in which 883 runs were scored, just two players were over 100 RBI., with James Monger & Emilio Morales being over 100. Morales having 164 may count for close to two players I suppose? Regardless, the next highest on the team was Aymeric Barajas with just 73. Jimmy Starks had 60 that year playing as a left handed shortstop...and Aubrey Anderson had 65. After that, just 30 RBI guys.

That's 198 RBI for the #3-5 RBI leaders from 2036 and basically dropping off after that. The 3-6 guys on the 2044 team project for 316 RBI this season, or 118 more than the 3-5 guys mentioned from 2036. Add in one of those 30 RBI guys mentioned as the 6th person and it is still an exta 88 RBI more in 2044 than the 2036 season.

Looking at the pitching staff in 2032. They gave up 639 earned runs and had a team ERA of 4.00. Omaha this season is on pace to give up 600 earned runs and finish with a team ERA of just 3.72. If that team ERA holds, Omaha will have the best team ERA they have had since the 2025 season.
