As I sit here and report on this, my stomach hurts. I’m not sure if it’s because I am hungry, if it’s because I am debating on a new vehicle, or if it’s because my Cyclones have started out the worst they have ever started since I have been in charge of the franchise.
While I wouldn’t have been shocked to see a 4-3 or 3-4 split to start the season, I would have been less shocked to even see a 7-0 record come through however I never would have predicted an 0-7 start to the season.
Quickly I scattered as I began to look at what was to blame for the slow start. Is it Emilio Morales and his .167/.167/.417 slash or could I blame Andre Ly for going 4/23 to start the year with a .174/.240/.174 triple slash. Being 13th in runs scored to start the year is nothing to give a standing ovation for.
The pitching was good right? Of course not. After giving up 38 runs in 7 games, the pitching staff is on pace for 874 runs allowed. At least the defense was good I suppose ranking 1st in both efficiency and zone rating to start the year.
Nearly every member of the rotation was lit up but no more than In-Sung Yi who has a 23.14 ERA through 2 innings of his 2043 season.
The bullpen, which was a strong point last season after the first month was a disaster as well with the biggest issue being Raul Luna. It will be interesting to see what sort of leash the team has on Luna after he was yanked out of the closing roles last year after failing miserably.
I guess, with being on pace to win 0 games, that number can only rise moving forward.
After first 7 games, Omaha on pace for 0 wins in 2043.(2043.17)

There's one of those math problems that doesn't take a long time to do.
