Justin Jackson & Tu-Fu Yong both told to pack bags.

News out of Omaha this morning is that not only have they made the sweeping changes mentioned with their young budding stars, but some of the veterans have been told to be prepared to move on from the city. Rumors are that Justin Jackson and Tu-Fu Yong were both told by the front office to expect to be dealt to a contending team as Omaha will look to move on from both after less than 1 full season.

Both are having good seasons, with Jackson batting .290/.339/.583 with 22 home runs in 283 at bats, good for his best OPS+ and wRC+ since his 2039 season. Jackson is a pending free agent at the end of the year but his demands sound like they have been reasonable, at just over $10,000,000 annually for 3 years.

Tu-Fu Yong is also no slouch. He has 22 home runs of his own in 306 at bats and has a .252/.314/.529 triple slash line. He has alternated between second base and shortstop for the Hawks but is probably better off at second base with all the ground ball pitchers Omaha employs. Yong is making $12,500,000 this season, and is set to earn $11,500,000 the next 2 before the team has an option to pick up another $11,500,000 in 2044.

It’s been rumored for a while that Jackson would move, but Yong is a new addition to this group of names that are rumored to be on their way out of Omaha. Of course while gossip says a trade is imminent, if Omaha were to just hang onto Jackson they are more than likely to earn a compensation pick in the draft when his free agency does begin.

There's no more shocking result this year than Omaha. They're last year's Seattle.
