Augusto Cardenas time in Omaha ends(41.07)

Post by niles08 » Fri Jan 24, 2020 8:56 am

Augusto Cardenas time in Omaha has officially come to an end as the 27-year-old pitcher has struggled to return from his partially torn UCL suffered in June of 2040. Cardenas was a top of the line reliever in California from 2035-2038, compiling an ERA as low as 1.07 over 50 innings in 2036. He was acquired by Omaha from California for outfield prospect Arvin Duggan in January 2039.

His time in Omaha allowed him to convert to a starting role, and he did fine in 2039 pitching a 3.75 ERA in 120 innings, but had a set back in 2040 before his injury pitching to a 4.73 ERA in 11 games started. This season in 2 games, he has been rocked giving up 4 earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched. It was thought that Cardenas would have a short lease upon his return as scouts were less than impressed with his ability after this injury.

Cardenas was owed a total of $6,000,000 between the remaining balance this year and next year's $4,300,000 guarantee.
