Omaha officially the worst in Frick to start 2041(2041.2)

Post by niles08 » Fri Jan 03, 2020 11:28 am

Those hoping this season would be different in Omaha obviously had another thing coming as Omaha is once again one of the worst teams to start the season in the BBA. While it feels like a broken record as Omaha has always started slow, it’s likely to bite Omaha in the ass as they play in a more complete Heartland division than arguably ever before.

Omaha’s current 4-8 record is better than no other Frick team, and better than only Mexico City, Jacksonville, and Wichita in the Johnson league. The Johnson does have 2 other teams that are similar to Omaha in being 4-8 (Charm City & Charlotte).

The scary piece for Omaha is that it doesn’t appear there is one thing wrong, there is everything wrong. The team is 16th in batting average and on base percentage, to go along with 15th in ERA and runs allowed while on the mound.

Justin Jackson, Conner Hamilton, and Emilio Morales have both underwhelmed early at the plate with batting averages near the Mendoza line.

On the mound, Jose Lima & Stephen Clulow have both been lit up early, while newcomer Timo Dooley has also some questioning the decision to call him up from AAA to start the season.

With a 4-8 start, and a 10-5 heavy road schedule to start the season, the Hawks will be looking forward to their upcoming 6 game home stand. They will need to pick up some ground during these home series as the club follows it up with another 12-17 away split over the next month.
