Emilio Morales continues his career with another milestone crossed.(40.16)

We won’t spend this entire article discussing Emilio Morales and his greatness in Omaha over his career, even though we could. We could literally write books about it. Instead, we will give the customary short version where we point out that Morales has crossed the age of 30, and with that has crossed another career milestone.

Last week, Morales launched his 450th career home run while on the road in Madison against the Wolves. In the 1-5 loss, Morales was the only run scored and although a Wolves fan ended up with the ball, that fan was kind enough to send the ball to the Hawks headquarters without being asked. Though it wasn’t requested, the team did send the Wolves fan 2 complimentary tickets to game 1 of the Landis Memorial Series this season and if Omaha is lucky enough to host an all-star game that fan will be invited back to Omaha to participate in the festivities. After all that, that fan may wind up a Hawk fan. After all, Madison is not too far of a drive from Omaha.

Anyhow, Morales currently sits at 452 career home runs after beginning the season a 395. This is his 6th straight season of hitting at least 54 home runs and having at least 131 RBI. He is yet again on pace for the 5th time in 6 years to lead the BBA in Home Runs & Runs Batted In along with Total Bases.

What a career for this young man. After starting the year ranked 77th all time, now with 452 home runs Morales has now cracked the top 40 of career home runs. Assuming his pace of 55 home runs a season lasts for another 3 years, he will at that point and time have 617 career home runs and be within the top 6 all time, and only 104 off of the all time leader Bopper Kengos record of 720.

At that time, Morales will be 33.

He really is having an amazing career. To be career top 40 in any category by age 30 is a very special accomplishment.
