Arellano dazzles in debut.(40.12)

Jose Arellano, the newest member of the Omaha rotation began his time in Omaha in one of the best ways he could have hoped for. No, he didn’t throw a no-hitter. But what he did do was pitch 15 innings, and allow only 3 earned runs over those 15 innings.

Both games were coincidently against Twin Cities. First, visiting Twin Cities, Arellano went 8 innings, allowing 3 earned runs and striking out 4. He struggled a bit with command, allowing 3 walks this game.

Typically batters begin to figure out the opposing team's pitchers and it’s tough to beat them multiple times in a row. Hence why quite a bit of the time, if a pitcher gets to face a player the third or fourth time, the advantage goes to the batter. Just like foul ball after foul ball, the more pitches you see, the better off you are.

Well, in Arellano’s second start for the Hawks he faced the Twin Cities in Omaha. He walked zero, struck out 7, and stranded 6 hits in 7 innings.

Arellano couldn’t have asked for a better start in Omaha than a 2-0 record with a 1.80 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP.
