Jose Lima moves to rotation, Williams called back up(2039.21)

As Adam Barnard goes to waivers, Jose Lima will take his place in the starting rotation for at least the time being. Lima was called on earlier this season and made 4 starts in the rotation, compiling a 8.47 ERA over 17 innings. A far cry from numbers put up in relief this year which over 23.2 innings he has compiled a 3.04 ERA.

The club obviously thinks Lima can start, and his makeup would suggest the same. He has two very good pitches in the sinker and cutter and has an average changeup that is still developing slowly. The 22 year old was just acquired in March in a deal with New Orleans and is in his first season of Brewster league service.

There were rumblings that the club didn't give Carson Stoller the opportunity to step in but quite frankly Carson has struggled in relief even this year and a spot in the rotation may risk injury. It's unfortunate but it appears the club has given up on their former first round pick and #1 overall pick in the draft in Carson Stoller at only 25 years old. Stoller currently has an ERA just north of 8.00 over 40 innings pitched.

Being called up to take Barnard’s roster spot was infielder Jake Williams. Williams has spent time with the club the past 2 seasons at the BBA Level, however did post decent numbers(0.7 WAR in 36 games) power wise earlier this season(9 home runs in 100 at bats) and has an excellent glove capable of playing elite defense at either of the middle infield spots.
