Bernardo Boullosa to break camp with Hawks(39.13)

Post by niles08 » Wed Jun 26, 2019 2:04 pm

The Hawks final moves before the beginning to the regular season were announced today. Typically, the club only carries 27 men into spring training, but this year they carried 28 meaning a move had to be made by opening day.

The team announced they were sending Rule 5 pick IF Michel Lambert back to his original club, The Des Moines Kernels. With the move, many assumed Bernardo Boullosa was safe with the club, however the trade that brought Conner Hamilton & Jose Lima to Omaha had Boullosa questioning what the team would do.

The club announced that both Hamiltion & Lima will report to AAA Lincoln to begin the season officially clearing the way for Bernardo Boullosa to begin the season on the active roster. Manager Quentin Richardson confirmed the news to reporters moments ago.

“We are not only looking forward to Bernardo joining the team, but he will be starting at 2nd base on opening day.” Said Richardson.

Boullosa has a spring line of .253/.296/.429 with 3 home runs and 10 RBI over 98 at bats. Last season at Triple-A Lincoln he hit .301/.349/.636 with 41 home runs and 106 RBI over 564 plate appearances. Second base is relatively new to Boullosa as he has spent only 35 games there professionally not including spring training, where he started 22 games.
