Hawks announce deal with New Orleans(39.11)

Post by niles08 » Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:37 am

The Hawks officially announced the rumored deal with New Orleans today after all players passed their physicals. In the trade, the Hawks are acquiring two young team controlled players who have 0 BBA experience, and sending top pitching prospect Gilberto Nevarez, center field prospect Pablo Caproroz, and 26 year old pitcher Claudio Delgado to New Orleans.

Nevarez seems to be the big get here for New Orleans but is currently still quite a few years away from making his BBA debut at only 18 years old. Nevarez was the clubs 1st round pick, taken 26th overall in the 2038 first year player draft. Nevarez was currently listed as the #17 top prospect in the Annual BBA Top 100 Prospects list.

Coming to Omaha is catcher Conner Hamilton & pitcher Jose Lima.

Lima, who is a borderline starter in most eyes, has 2 great pitches and a third which is currently an average changeup. Lima was acquired from San Fernando in 2037 and in 2038 was named as the #77 prospect in the BBA.

Conner Hamilton is also a 21 year old, however he spends his time behind the plate rather than throwing at it. Hamilton has great power ability as demonstrated by his 37 home runs last season between Dingle A & Double-A ball. Hamilton still needs a bit of seasoning behind the plate but currently seems blocked by catcher John Hale who the club just acquired last season.
