Bernardo Boullosa entered the season having completely skipped Short A & AA and going straight from Short-A to AAA. Based on his numbers this season, you wouldn’t be able to tell.
He has a batting line of .309/.359/.663 with 29 home runs and 71 RBI in 90 games. He is within shouting distance of the triple crown as he trails in batting average by only .005 points and is 1 off the leader for home runs along with runs batted in.
The 20 year old has also began to learn other positions having picked up 1B, center field, and second base duties so far this season as the club appears content on making him as much as a utility player as they can with the ability to play multiple positions and give the club flexibility when needed.
Boullosa has already taken home his fair share of hardware after being selected to the 2037 all-star game in Short A, and now the Rubert Horn Memorial League All-Star Game in AAA. He also won the 2037 FPL Platinum Stick Award for left fielders in the Florida Prospect League over the off-season.
Some question why Boullosa isn’t currently in the BBA playing for Omaha, but Omaha has a bit of a crowded outfield currently and clearly isn’t going to compete this year to begin with so while the wait is on for Boullosa to head up to Omaha, fans may have to wait a little longer.
