Omaha loses Stoller for 2-3 months(38.44)

Post by niles08 » Fri Apr 05, 2019 8:53 am

Well, in potentially the most unsurprising news of the summer Omaha has announced that Carson Stoller would miss the next 2-3 months of the season after leaving his start early against Madison with “elbow inflammation”.

This comes as terrible news for Omaha, who are already without Manuel Orozco. Not only that, but Stoller was having a pretty good year having thrown a 3.38 ERA over 34.2 innings and 6 starts. Now, Stoller will return in August most likely and be limited to 12 or fewer starts this year in a season when Omaha truly needed him to step up and take the mound 30 times.

Not counting his current step back, since August of 2033, Stoller has had the following injuries:

08/26/2033 Injured (Strained forearm), out for 2-3 months.
05/26/2034 Injured (Bone chips (elbow)), out for 3 months.
04/10/2035 Injured (Sprained ankle), day-to-day for 2 weeks.
09/12/2035 Injured (Sore elbow), day-to-day for 1-2 weeks.
02/28/2036 Injured (Dead arm), out for 4 days.
05/08/2036 Injured (Sore elbow), day-to-day for one week.
06/04/2036 Injured (Dead arm), out for one week.
07/19/2036 Injured (Mild abdominal strain), day-to-day for 3 days.
08/27/2036 Injured (Strained oblique), out for 5-6 weeks.
10/09/2036 Injured (Sore elbow), day-to-day for one week.
03/01/2037 Injured (Sore elbow), day-to-day for one week.
04/06/2037 Injured (Back tightness), day-to-day for 4 days.
06/29/2037 Injured (Hand soreness), day-to-day for 3 days.
07/22/2037 Injured (Sore elbow), day-to-day for one week.
08/03/2037 Injured (Strained back), day-to-day for one week.
08/14/2037 Injured (Mild abdominal strain), day-to-day for 5 days.
08/24/2037 Injured (Radial nerve (elbow) decompression surgery), out for 4-5 months.
04/23/2038 Injured (Forearm stiffness), out for 6 days.

That is 18 injuries in 4.5 years, 7 of which lasted for more than 1 week.

Despite Stoller’s “Book of Boo-Boo’s” he still has managed to start a remarkable 26, 27, and 29 games over the past 3 seasons. So it’s not like he’s starting 10 games a season every year, and then spending the rest of the season on the shelf.
That will unfortunately, be the outcome this season however as he may not eclipse 15 starts and Omaha’s rotation looks thinner than ever.
