Who is left in Omaha to be resigned?(2038.43)

Looking from the outside in, it appears Omaha has set itself up for a very quiet 2039 off-season. The reason we say that is because Omaha currently has 0, yes 0, pending free agents on their BBA roster. As a matter of a fact, Omaha only has 2 pending free agents on its 2040 roster right now. Those two being Max Hatcher & Aubrey Anderson. Hatcher will probably not make it past arbitration this season and Anderson is currently on waivers. So not only has Omaha potentially set itself up for a quiet 2039 off-season but a 2040 off-season appears to be just as quiet.

The list grows a bit in 2041 but is it anything major? I hesitate to say so.

Relievers Ken Spencer, Armando Rasquilha, and Pavel Bure Jr. are set to be free agents after the 2040 season. Bure actually holds a team option on 2040 that will more than likely not be executed anyway so he will already be off the team. Spencer & Rasquilha are looking like none factors in the lackluster shit show that is the current Omaha bullpen so they may also be allowed to walk.

Jesus Rojas is already on his way to Jacksonville via trade.

That leaves two bodies that will need new contracts. Both are members of the current starting rotation and have spent their careers in Omaha so expect Omaha to stay as loyal to them as they have to other players.

Adam Barnard will be finishing his age 29 season in 2040 and one would expect the team to attempt to keep him in town as Omaha is all he has ever known, if you discount the 10 starts he made in 2032 between Atlantic City & Halifax.

The other is Carson Stoller. Stoller probably isn’t going to demand huge money based on his arbitration figures and his pages and pages of injury reports. An attempt and execution to resign Stoller will more than likely be done before we reach this off-season anyways, but the team must be careful as Stoller’s arm could fall off any day.

Much of Omaha’s BBA roster has been with the club since the beginning of their pro career’s or for the majority of their pro careers. It is clear that Omaha is not just a “stop” for many players but rather a destination where they can call home longterm.
