What’s wrong with Edris Mtume?(37.04)

Edris Mtume won 41% of his games that he started last season and was in some consideration for the Nebraska award. This season, he has won 2 games or only 11% of his starts. Let that sink in.

The Worst Part?

His advanced statistics aren’t far off of last season.

The biggest may be a drop in strikeout % from 21.39% to 17.38%. Otherwise take a look at these:

2037: 2.48%
2036:2.31%

LOB%:

2037:67.96%
2036:72.07%

GB%:

2037: 56.70%
2036: 56.81%

ERA:

2037: 4.29
2036: 4.00

FIP:

2037: 3.75
2036: 3.37

WAR:

2037: 4.68
2036: 5.29

None of these numbers scream for a huge drop in wins for Mtume. With that being the case, here is hoping that Edris caps off a wild second half where he goes 10-0 down the stretch.

I purposely left this off assuming somebody would chime in with it...Were not scoring like we did last season which is unfortunate. It's the same group of guys, with the same batting average. Balls just aren't getting hit out of the park.

It is mostly run support, but a 4% drop in K rate is actually pretty huge.
