By now most know that Emilio Morales is being regarded as one of the best players to ever wear uniform for the Hawks franchise. That goes for any location that this franchise has been, and not just the great town of Omaha.

Many hardcore fans have had a date circled on their calendars now for a few years. That date?

August 17th, 2036.

That is the official date that Emilio Morales had 5 years of major league service time.

Why is this date important?

As those same hardcore fans know, the BBA has a regulation that teams cannot sign players longer than 3 years without that said player having more than 5 years of BBA service time.

Now that the time has come and gone, rumors in the front office have begun to spread that the time already has Emilio locked up and is just waiting for the opportune time to announce such extension. He is currently the league leader in HR & RBI, so why not announce it now?

Reports have swung from a team friendly deal with an annual salary under $10,000 a year to the extreme report of Emilio seeking more than $30,000,000 annually.

Our best guess? It’s probably somewhere in between, but if Omaha can bring home some Landis trophies with the help of Morales, he will be worth every penny.

I wish he wasn't asking for what he was asking for I have to be strategic though and frontload his offer so that I have more space in coming years to resign all of the other pups who will be up by then(Monger, Clulow, Barnard, Mtume, Starks Jr)
