1).Jose Canales has had an up and down year, but seems to have found his stuff at the perfect time. Canales is 12 for 12 in save opportunities over last 18 games with an ERA of 0.00. The 24 year old has 33 saves on the year and has compiled an 11-4 record this season. His 127 career saves places him among the top 5 in career saves for the Hawks franchise.
2.) James Monger (8/7/8/5/9 Talents, .308/.354/.585, 39 HR, 113 RBI) has thrived in his first full season in the BBA, especially over the past 2 weeks. In that span, he is batting .379 with 7 home runs. Monger is 1 home run shy of 40 on the season and his batting line of .308/.354/.585 is impressive for the 22 year old.
3.) Catching has been an absolute disaster this season. Bob Wagner (6/7/3/3/9 Talents, .224/.260/.282, 1 HR, 32 RBI) took a horrible dive with his contact rating on the scouting scale dropping a full 2 points. His defense also was unimpressive. Alberto Padilla (5/5/8/9/4 Talents, .174/.305/.472, 18 HR, 30 RBI) was signed at mid-season and has been hot lately including his 3 HR game last week, but catcher certainly seems like a spot of attention this offseason.
4.) Emilio Morales has slowed down. His 64 home runs still lead the BBA and this season will surely be one to remember for the young slugger who still has an outside shot at being voted as the league’s most valuable player.
5.) The midseason acquisition of Maximo Quezada (6/5/7/4/5 Talents, .222/.287/.365, 19 HR, 54 RBI) & Aubrey Anderson (6/8/8/4/7 Talents, .272/.320/.540, 41 HR, 112 RBI) may have single handedly been what has kept this team in the hunt. Without them and with the injury to Jimmy Starks Jr. it is a clear question mark as to who would be playing center field right now. It also does not hurt that Maximo & Anderson have a combined 60 home runs this season along with 166 RBI.
6.) Wayne Muirhead (10/6/7 Talents, 4 - 2, 6.71 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 62 K) went down this week with a strained hamstring that will end his season. Muirhead had a season to forget this year after being fantastic last season with Omaha & Huntsville. Muirhead posted a 6.71 ERA this season that included 4 games started where he was absolutely rocked (damn CPU). His 4.78 ERA as a reliever however is not anything to write home about.

I like nuggets.
And, yes, Morales has a good case. Going to be an interesting award season.

agreed on morales, I would be surprised if anyone gets a true majority of the first place votes in the Frick Silk race (haven't looked too closely at the others yet).

What a year for Morales. I don't seem to be able to find a guy like that.
