Joe Clements enjoying September call-up(35.44)

Post by niles08 » Tue Aug 21, 2018 9:42 am

The saga of Joe Clements (9/5/5 Talents) has been reported many times. Many accompany his name with the team rebuild and the ace who wasn’t an ace for those seasons. This year, for the first time since 2029, Clements has pitched exclusively in the minor leagues due to a rotation that simply did not have a spot for him.

Clements started the year in Double-A, and struggled with a 4.84 ERA through 21 starts. He was called up to the Triple A Lincoln Loggers and made 4 starts with Lincoln in August pitching to a 3.76 ERA.

Now, Clements has been up on the BBA roster since September 1st and although he hasn’t had many opportunities he has made the most of them.

“I think the way Joe has conducted himself is truly been a role model for any player in the BBA. Joe went down to our farm system and became an instant mentor and friend to the pups and that mentorship is not something that can be bought.” Said GM Justin Niles.

Through 4 appearances this month, Clements has a 3.00 ERA through 9 innings. He has struck out 14, while walking 7 and compiling a 1.22 WHIP.

The 26 year old from Glenwood, Iowa is still on the payroll next season for $4,600,000.
