POLL: Morales continues his tear as MVP Chants begin (35.42)
Emilio Morales came into the season humble and has played through most of the season in a very appreciative manner. When preseason predictions had him hitting over 60 home runs and leading the FL this season in the category, he had his cheerleaders and his nay-sayers however as he has played this season many of those in the “nay-sayer” group have found themselves on the other side of the argument.
“He just plays the game the right way”
“The way he carries himself has every player in the BBA envious of him”
“To put together such strong numbers while striking out such few times is almost unheard of”
Just a few of the quotes that fellow BBA Managers who have played against, played with, or watched Morales play.
Morales currently leads the league with an even 50 home runs and a picture of him breaking the BBA single season home run record is within reach. Last season, he hit 45. Those 45 were good for the club record in home runs for a single season.
It’s August 10th.
There are 45 games left in the regular season.
Through 117 games, he has hit 50 home runs, good for nearly one every other game (he homered in 42% of games). At his current pace, he is set to hit 18.9 more home runs giving him 68 home runs on the season and 5 short of Long Chamberlain’s record of 73.
However, he had a slow start. He only hit 6 home runs during the month of April and 7 in June.
During July? He hit 19! That is with an all-star break sandwiched in there! 19 home runs in only 26 games played.
So far in August? He has hit 7 home runs in 9 games.
So since July 1st, he has hit 26 home runs in 35 games played. Good for a home run in 75% of his games. Meaning every 4 games, he homers in 3 of them. If he is able to sustain this pace in August & September, he would hit 33 home runs and finish the season at 83!
So what does everyone thing?
Does he get to 65? 70? 73? 80?

Interesting to watch what happens. The Hawks played on the road most of April, and home most of July. Which probably goes a way --but not the whole way--toward defining the delta.

I couldn't agree more...We play just over 50% of our remaining games on the road so hopefully they are some hitter friendly ball parks.

The Frick Silk race will be interesting to see playout. Five players sit with 5.0-5.9 WAR, and two of them catchers.

10 of the remaining road games are in extreme anti-homer parks(Vancouver, Seattle, and Madison). He needs to make the most of his trip to Boise's LF snow fence park this week.

Hey! Our fence isn’t small! *PR person whispers in ear*
Oh, Brett designed the stadium that way? And built the team exclusively around it? Because Home runs and Home runs alone win championships? Sure, that was a great idea...

I voted 65. REally hoping those road games in Madison yield 0 homeruns and runs in general for Omaha! haha
As for Silk, Raider has that this year! My PR group already on it!
