NewsFlash: Austin requests AAA Franchise adjustment

MBBA Wire: The Austin Riverbats, under the ownership of Brad Browne, have formally submitted a request to Commissioner Matt Rectenwald to transfer the Marquette Suns AAA franchise so that they would act as the AAA team for the Riverbats.

"I have a long-standing relationship with the city and people of Marquette, and i Hope that Commissioner Rectenwald will review and consider my request. If not for this year, I'm hoping in a future year this can be accomplished.

No terms for the exchange or move were announced, but it known that Browne has offered compensation to Rectenwald for the deal, including cases of Yoohoo, cartons of Parliament Cigarettes, as well as some land under contract by owner Browne on the isle of Guam.
