The Home Run King.(48.5)
In the bottom of the 8th inning, with 2 outs, and the bases loaded, the Omaha Cyclones were trailing 3-1 against the Seattle Storm. Up to bat came Emilio Morales with the crowd wondering if this was the at-bat where Morales would become the all-time leader in home runs for the Brewster Baseball Association.
On a 2-1 pitch, Morales swung and connected on a ball that left the field of play at 108.8 miles per hour, and traveled 411 feet before falling into the glove of a Cyclones fan. Morales, standing at the plate, watched his no doubt shot leave the field. As he trotted around the base paths, he received congratulatory messages from Storm defenders before turning at 3rd base to greet members of his team waiting for him at the plate. As he crossed the plate, greeted by those teammates, he waved to his family in the crowd, and the moment was over.
Emilio Morales had 721 career home runs, the most of any player in Brewster Baseball history.
“Obviously this is a team game and first and foremost, I am glad I could help us win tonight. We’re in a tight playoff race and I know that every game matters today just as much as it will at the end of September” said Morales.
Morales, who is 38 years old, is currently in the last year of his 6 year, $70M extension he signed with the club back in August 2042. He is currently under contract thanks to another extension signed last November that will pay him an additional $1,900,000 for next season.

Honestly I have no idea. His 111 OPS+ tells me that I shouldn't vote him in unless he had an amazing glove, and a great history for the story telling of the BBA. If you remove his last 3 seasons, his OPS+ obviously jumps up a bit(into the 118-120 range), and his home run total would be 661. I'm not sure if that is enough.aaronweiner wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 2:08 pmFirst ballot Hall of Famer. Except to you. And some other people. I think.
His 8 all-star appearances say he was among the best for 8 years. In 2037, with his 64 home runs and 6.8 WAR he didn't make the all-star team. In 2039 with his 54 home runs he didn't get in either. He won 5/6 Golden Bat awards, with his only season being in 2039 where he didn't win despite those 54 home runs. He has 2 post-season MVP awards and a ring.
Defensively, He has a career 62.4 ZR rating at 2B/3B and 2 diamond glove awards to go with it.
But with all that being said, I'm still not sure. I have to squint to see past the 111 OPS+ regardless of what the other numbers say.

I stand by my decision not to select him in 2037 to the ASG. That being said I will be voting for him for the HOF.
