63.48 Dogar Named JL Pitcher of the Month

A little over a year ago, Montreal traded for Umar Dogar at the trade deadline to fortify their rotation. He is signed for three more years at $15 million per year, the last year being a player option. This year he has earned every penny, making 33 starts, including 20 quality starts, going 16-5 with a 2.93 ERA (129 ERA+) and a 1.06 WHIP. His ERA ranks third in the JL and his WHIP ranks second. He ranks first in opponents' batting average (.214).

Today he was honored by the league with the Pitcher of the Month award. In September, Dogar made five starts, going 4-0 with a 1.04 ERA and 1.04 WHIP.
