In a deal that won't make the headlines, Montreal sent 16-year-old starting pitcher prospect Josef Bilderbeek to New Orleans in exchange for 25-year-old right fielder Ánibal Sáenz.

Sáenz is a left-handed hitter with a strong split against right-handed pitching. This is a polite way of saying that he can't hit southpaws. When facing right-handers, he projects with plus contact and elite gap power with a slightly below average batting eye. He possesses plus-plus speed and excellent baserunning instincts. He has an elite throwing arm and a plus outfield glove that make him a plus-plus corner outfielder. He can also play first base. He was originally selected out of high school by New Orleans in the 17th round of the 2055 amateur draft. He has split time between AA and AAA this season, hitting .378/.413/.546 (154 OPS+) and .225/.255/.297 (50 OPS+) versus right-handed pitching, respectively. Scouts praise his adaptability.

Bilderbeek was signed by Montreal scouts out of the Netherlands in January and assigned to the team's international complex. He's a finesse pitcher with a six pitch repertoire of plus pitches. He shows good stamina and should be able to work through a lineup multiple times. He projects to have decent control but only average movement on his pitches.
