Eduardo González
"No one has donned the Blazers green and gold more often than Eduardo. For two decades, he and Lineu Aldo were the face of the franchise. Linny could not be here today, but he called Eduardo earlier today. It's rare in this day and age for a player to spend his entire career with a single team. We are honored that he chose to do so.
"Eduardo set team career marks that may never be broken. He played 2,945 games as a Blazer. He accumulated 3,197 hits, including 829 doubles. He hit 554 home runs, scored 1,711 runs, and drove in 1,946. He won the Silver Slugger twice and was a six-time All Star.
"He earned the nickname Steady Eddie, because he was so reliable, so consistent. From his rookie season at age 20 back in 2041 through 2059, he always answered the bell. He was a fixture at the hot corner. He never played fewer than 134 games in each of those seasons. He hit at least 33 doubles and 19 home runs every year, but averaged many more than those numbers.
"Thank you, Eduardo, for your contribution to our organization. It was an honor to have you as part of our team the last two decades. Now future generations will always be reminded of your accomplishments as a Blazer."
