60.26 Montreal Duo Named to All-Star Team

First baseman Dan Wilkinson and third baseman Tom Allen were named to the Johnson League All-Star team today. This is the first All-Star appearance for each of them.

The 22-year-old Wilkinson is hitting .284/.346/.615 (163 OPS+) with 22 doubles and 21 home runs. He leads Johnson League first basemen in OPS, OPS+, wOBA, slugging percentage, and isolated power. He was the Blazers' first round selection in the 2054 amateur draft.

Tom Allen

The 24-year-old Allen, who is in the running for Rookie of the Year, is hitting .295/.363/.551 (153 OPS+) with 23 doubles, 16 home runs, and 60 RBIs. He leads Johnson League third basemen in OPS+ and ranks second in slugging percentage, win probability added (WPA), and wOBA. He also leads the league's hot corner in zone rating and ranks second in range and assists. The 6'6" Allen is considered to have among the strongest throwing arms at his position. He was Montreal's third-round pick in the 2052 amateur draft.

I’m kinda surprised

1) Allen leads the league in ZR at 3B
and
2) +2.9 ZR is enough to lead the league

So was I. He's tied with Tristan Lloyd of Las Vegas.

Personally, I'm just thrilled that his zone rating is positive. I guess his rocket arm makes up for his average range and his below average error rating.
