59.17 Jose Martinez Selected for BBA Futures Game

Right-handed pitcher José Martínez was selected as the Blazers representative to the BBA All-Star Futures Game. The Blazers first round pick in the 2058 amateur draft, Martínez is currently ranked as the BBA's #82 prospect.

The 19-year-old Martínez is in his second season with Single-A Dearborn Heights. In 19 starts, he is 5-9 with a 4.47 ERA. He throws five pitches, led by his mid-90s fastball. His other four pitches are all works in progress. They include a sinker, cutter, splitter and changeup.
