Montreal’s middle infield will be starting for the Johnson League All-Stars this year. Both second baseman Miguel Martínez and shortstop Qutuz Mahdi led the voting at their positions.
Miguel 'Thrillseeker' Martínez
In his age 27 season, Martinez leads the league in home runs with 28. He’s hitting .232/.292/.540 for a 129 OPS+. This is his first trip to the Mid-Summer Classic.
Qutuz Mahdi
At age 31, Mahdi is hitting .302/.381/.435 for a 131 OPS+, far and away the best season of his career. This is his second All-Star game.
Lineu Aldo
Also added to the team as a reserve was first baseman Lineu Aldo. At age 38, this is his ninth All-Star selection. Aldo is enjoying one of his best years since his Rookie of the Year season way back in 2041. With 24 stolen bases (and only caught 3 times), 21 doubles, and 8 home runs, he’s hitting .333/.364/.530 for a 149 OPS+.
