In a shocking trade with a league rival, Montreal shipped their shutdown closer to Las Vegas, getting a bullpen piece and a prospect in return.
Tom 'Trout' Miller
Tom 'Trout' Miller, who first came to prominence in last season's Monty Brewster Memorial Series, was a first round draft pick by Montreal in the 2051 amateur draft. He has a three pitch repertoire, highlighted by his plus-plus changeup. He made his BBA debut in 2056, throwing just under 80 innings to a 4.35 ERA. It was 2057 when he broke out as the Blazers stopper. He threw almost 100 innings, struck out over a batter per inning, and posted a 2.84 ERA (158 ERA+). This season, as the club's closer, Miller has 16 saves, a 1.01 whip, and a 2.20 ERA.
Adam Bristcoe
In return, the Blazers get 26-year-old veteran reliever Adam Bristcoe. He throws a plus cutter, a plus changeup, and a plus-plus wipeout slider, but needs to work on improving his control. In eighteen innings so far this season, he's posted a 4.00 ERA.
Clancy Lee
Also coming Montreal's way is 20-year-old outfield prospect Clancy Lee, who was selected in the second round of the 2057 draft by the Hustlers. Lee fits the preferred Blazer profile: good contact skill, strong gap power, and plus-plus speed, combined with excellent defense. This season in AA, the left-handed Lee is hitting .283/.377/.348.
