Vonne Baloloy last pitched for Montreal during the 2056 season, a period of transition as the new management team settled in. He threw 82⅔ innings with a 2.58 ERA, and Erik Breum was eager to bring him back. Unfortunately, Montreal owner John Percolo was upset about the Breums spending and refused to authorize any extensions at the end of the season. Baloloy became a free agent and eventually signed in mid-August with Las Vegas but was released a month later.

“This feels like home,” said the 32-year-old Baloloy.
“I am thrilled to be back in Montreal. Mr. Breum made it clear that he wanted me back. I told my agent, ‘Just make it happen.’ I hope to finish my career here.”
The team is in negotiations with several other relief pitchers as this article goes to press. It is not clear what role Baloly will play in a revamped pen, but it is likely to be a high leverage, late game role.
