58.03 Blazers Introduce New Minor League Hitting Coaches

Post by Bob Breum » Thu Jan 25, 2024 11:31 am

Bob Breum stepped to the podium. "It has long been our philosophy to spare no expense to provide for the development of young players who have trusted us to help them succeed. Whether they come to us through the amateur draft, our international scouting efforts, or sign with us as free agents, we recognize our responsibility to hone their skills and put them into position to succeed."

"Hitting a baseball has been characterized as the most difficult skill in all of sports. We have many young players who are gifted with great talent, but it is our job to help realize that talent and convert it to skills that allow them to compete at the big league level. Today, I would like to introduce you to three men who have bought into our philosophy, and have agreed to join our organization to help grow our young talent. These gentlemen are three of the finest hitting coaches in the league. They had many opportunities, and they chose the Blazers organization."

Jean Picard

"First up, joining our AAA New Jersey Devils coaching staff is Jean Picard. Please, no Jean-Luc jokes. He is fluent in French, hailing from Alsace, which I'm sure will come in handy in New Jersey. All kidding aside, Jean is absolutely Legendary at teaching hitting. He is Outstanding at optimizing mechanics, and is Excellent at working with our older veterans, as well. We are very excited that he chose to work with us."

Salvador Hernández

"Next, allow me to introduce Salvador Hernández, who will be joining our AA Mississauga Spartans staff. Sally is a Legendary hitting instructor who is equally Legendary at developing young hitters. He is Excellent at correcting mechanics, too. Welcome aboard, Sally!"

Leroy Sheppard

"Finally, let me present our new Dearborn Heights Knights staff member, Leroy Sheppard. Leroy has a bright future in our organization. He is a baseball man through and through, with a deep knowledge of all aspects of the game. He can talk hitting, pitching, fielding, catching, base running, you name it. For now, he will be teaching our young hitters in A ball. Leroy is an Outstanding hitting instructor and will be Outstanding in the development of the youngsters put in his charge. He is Excellent at tweaking Mechanics to get the most of each player. We are thrilled to have Leroy join our family."
