After Blazers shortstop
Mauro Soto refused demotion to AAA New Jersey, he was placed on waivers to make room for infielder
Hanbal Sayyid. Before the waiver paperwork was even filed with the league, Las Vegas swooped in with a deal. Soto will be donning the red, white, and green of the Hustlers, where he hopes he can return to last season's form, when he hit .274 in Charlotte.

Sezer Erkal
In return, Montreal is receiving 20-year-old starting pitcher
Sezer Erkal. Last season with the Talons' rookie league club, he posted a 3.87 ERA in fifteen starts, but with a 6.05 FIP. He was traded to Las Vegas in the offseason, but this season has been a struggle. In seven starts, he's posted a 10.44 ERA. He's reported to be a hard worker, and Montreal hopes that their coaching staff can mold Erkal into a contributor over the course of the next few seasons.

Nobody seems to like post-hype veterans more than commish but I was still surprised to see somebody wanted Soto.

I need defense
Curious why you would view it that way vs needing a SS? Isn’t a run scored worth the same as a run saved?

A great defensive SS or CF can make 13 players on your team better, effecting 27 outs. While a bad hitter only effects 3-4 at bats per game.
I always feel those are two positions I don't want to be wishy washy about. If I can't get the best bat out there, give me the best glove.

You could argue it's more than 3-4 PAs per game since out avoidance creates more PAs for the rest of the lineup, but overall point taken. It's definitely a nuance to the Brewster I've accepted but feels overstated in this version of the game. There's an offensive breakeven point and it seems like an especially low bar.

Couldn't agree more. That being said there is an inbalance and I plan to try to counter it any way possible while it exists.
