THE SCENE: Erstwhile GM Dog Action of the Montreal Blazers’ afternoon solitude is rudely disrupted by coach executive Stan. H. Stansman, in a rage over the recent trade of a collection of youngsters for AAAA lifers Fawwaz Amin and Bryan Gill.
S -“So these players were previously available freely. And they were about to be released, so about to be free again?”
A - “Yes”
S - “And we gave away things that were valuable for them?”
A - “Yes.”
S - “And the argument is, that in this moment, this second, between them being freely available originally and being freely available again, they were worth minor leaguers we’d spent collectively over a million dollars on signing bonuses on?”
A - “Yes”
S - “When exactly was that moment, then, Action?”
A - “About the moment you failed to re-sign any of our OFers, Stansman”
(EDITORS NOTE: Action is referring to the alleged ‘non-filing’ incident, where despite Stansman swearing blind he had processed the extensions that star players were happy with - like Lineu Aldo and Topan Adjeng, and probably some other guys too -none resigned. He later claimed that his super computer* had moved the ‘Submit Offer’ button to the wrong place)
S - “Well at least Gill seems alright – he seems like a new Tommy Cochran.”
A - “The same Tommy Cochran you briefed to the press was entirely to blame for our 2054 season?”
S -“Why have we switched sides?”
A - “This prose style is confusing and we won’t use it again”
Fawwaz Amin, Amin, I don’t see what all the Fawwaz is about.
