Montreal Blanks San Antonio Behind Davis
Kevin Davis led the Montreal Blazers to a 9-0 shutout victory over the San Antonio Outlaws at Ubisoft Field today. "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Davis recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." Davis yielded 6 hits and had 4 strikeouts and 3 walks in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," San Antonio manager Chris Blackwell said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

Davis would pitch the complete game, allowing 6 hits with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. And the offense did its job thanks to a 5-run 7th inning. Pedro 'Dragon' Rosales led the Blazers' offense, going 4 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. DH Juan Rodríguez would go 2 for 3 with 3 runs batted in. He'd also hit his 3rd home run of the season in the 7th inning.
