With 162 games on the schedule it's always said baseball teams shouldn't get too low or too high. Sometimes things happen during a long season that you just have to stop and celebrate in order to keep the season from dragging you down. April 4, 2047 was one of those days. Before the game the Montreal Blazers announced that five time All-Star Lineu Aldo signed a six year, $72 million extension to stay in a Blazers uniform. The team and Aldo's agent had talked throughout the offseason but negotiations had stalled as Aldo's agent would not budge on his $22 million per year asking price. Aldo and Montreal GM Herb DeSpain sat next to each other on the trip home from spring training and sources say the first baseman was not aware of his agent's demands. "Give Aldo credit," DeSpain explained at the presser announcing the extension. "He fired his agent over the phone while we were on the plane and we had a deal worked out before we landed."
The other big news out of Montreal on April 4 was not the play of 20 year old, starting pitcher Arsenio Lambrinos but the fact he was playing at all. Facing back to back torn flexor tendons most guys would have given up and tried a different profession. "I don't know how to do anything else," said the Greece native. Before tonight's game Lambrinos had pitched eight innings of spring training baseball since June 6, 2045. The Montreal crowd was excited to see the guy known as "The Myth" and team management was excited he didn't get hurt again. His eight innings of one hit ball, leading to his first career BBA win, was just icing on the Blazers' cake!
