On April 1, 2047 former Montreal Blazer player Ettiene R. LaFitte will get the star treatment as his former club will retire his number 23 and induct him into the Montreal Blazers Hall of Fame. LaFitte burst onto the scene as the seventh overall pick in the 2027 Draft. He would make his debut on the top prospects list in the spring of 2028 as the 16th best prospect in the BBA. A short two years later Lafitte would make the big league roster and enjoy a monster rookie season that would earn him the Johnson League Gillstrom Newcomer of the Year Award. The next seven years in Montreal would be more of the same as Ettiene entertained fans with his rare combination of power and speed. Seven of his eight season would end with Ettiene in the 30/30 club(30 HR/30 SB). Three of those seasons he went 40/40 and in one magical season he managed to joint the 50/50 club when he stole 55 bases and slammed 52 homers.

Six of his eight seasons in Montreal ended with the Blazers making the playoffs although they came up short each time. The closest he came to a Landis appearance was following his rookie season when the Blazers won 104 games, tops in the Johnson League, but fell to the Las Vegas Hustlers 4-2 in the Cartwright Cup. None of the post season failures could be pinned on LaFitte as he performed very well for Montreal in the postseason, especially during his early seasons. The three time All-Star(2032 AS Game MVP) hit .300 in 190 post-season plate appearances for the Blazers while hitting nine homers and knocking in 27 while scoring 33 times.

Ettiene R. LaFitte, welcome to the Montreal Blazers Hall of Fame...your number 23 will never be worn by another Montreal player again.
