When professional sports teams open a organization hall of fame, usually the first inductee is the greatest player or coach in the team's history. As the Montreal Blazers open the doors to their brand new Hall of Fame on opening day 2044 they will have gone a different direction with their initial inductee. The man who was the biggest influence on the success of the Montreal Blazers was former General Manager John Callahan, who will be the first ever member of the Montreal Blazers Hall of Fame.
Callahan watched over 27 winning seasons during his 35 year stint as the Blazers' general manager averaging 88 wins per year. His teams were responsible for 12 division titles, 20 playoff appearances, and the 2011 Landis Cup victory by a team that only won 86 regular season games. Callahan was just 31 years old when he started his career in Montreal and he retired at the age of 66 after the 2035 season.
Part of the 2044 Opening Day ceremonies will include the opening of the Montreal Blazers' Hall of Fame as the now 72 year old Callahan is scheduled to throw out the first pitch.

a worthy start, and your franchise also had some big names (including some who just retired) that likely will not have to wait long for enshrinement either.
