lazers fans may have seen the news that Montreal signed international free agent 17 year old first baseman Burhan 'Bazooka' bin Bishr to a minor league contract with a $8,800,000 signing bonus. So who exactly is this guy and why should you care?

Bishr is a 17 year old from Iraq. As with most young guys, he doesn't have much history. But the reports are that BBA scouts really liked what they saw when they visited him. As with all guys this young its' all about potential. Some guys hit and some guys miss. "It's all a big gamble" said GM Jeffrey Everroad "if it pays off you look brilliant. If it doesn't you look like a moron." So I think it goes without saying the GM really doesn't need anything else to make him look like a moron.

Bishr potential rates high in contact, gap and power by scores of 9,8,9. If those ratings come to be a reality, he could be a cornerstone at 1B for the Blazers. But as a 17 year old, anything is possible.
