It was announced today that the Montreal Blazers have lost starting pitcher
Vicente López for the season and it'll be over a year before he's ready to start throwing again. López ruptured his ulnar collateral ligament March 18th. López was expected to fight for a middle rotation spot. He is quickly becoming known to fans as a liability. He missed almost all of last season when he was injured in September of 2040 with a partially torn UCL which took him out of action for 10 months.
Manager Tomás Valdéz said "It's said to see for the kid. He just can't catch a break, having just come off a injury that took him out for almost all of last season."
With the injury, Fishers Indiana native
Lance Harrison was called up to take his place in the rotation. Harrison, 21 years old, spent all of last season playing AAA New Jersey. He started 29 games with a record of 13-9 with a ERA of 4.50.
The Blazers start the season April 1st and 2nd with the opening on their new ballpark Ubisoft field with a 2 game set vs their fellow canadian franchise, the
Edmonton Jackrabbits.
