It was a year of up and downs in Montreal for the BBA's Montreal Blazers. Multiple reports have indicated that GM Jeffrey Everroad seemed to be pretty MIA in the last half of the season. Sources report he wasn't seen around the ballpark as much as he was the first half of the season. That also seems to correlate with about the same time the on field product for the Blazers started to fall apart. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. When asked about it GM Jeffrey Everroad said he was "fulfilling his baseball duties." What that correlates to? Nobody knows. We do know for sure that he was spotted in Istanbul at his former clubs Championship clinching game 7. What the means for next year remains to be seen.
What we do know is the Blazers finished the season 83-79 good for 3rd place in the Atlantic Division 16 games back from division winner Rockville.
Lineu Aldo22 year old second baseman
Lineu Aldo was by far the brightest bright spot for the Blazers. He led the team in average (.358), homeruns (37) and runs batted in (127). He had a stat line of .358 / .405 / .670 along with 38 stolen bases and a WAR of 8.3. That WAR was 2nd best in the Johnson League behind Juan Rivera of the Gamblers (9.7). He would have to be one of the favorites for Newcomer of the Year.
Drees Geestman
27 year old
Drees Geestman led the Blazers in 3 key pitching categories (W, ERA, K). Geestman finished he season with 14 wins (2nd on team had 10), a ERA of 4.19 (2nd was 5.62) and 170 strikeouts (2nd was 146).
Blazers fans have alot to look forward to in 2042. They are a young team that has tons of upside. Here's to hoping for a better 2042.
