Turtle Enters the Race - 2034

Post by JohnC » Wed Feb 28, 2018 9:55 am

Montreal

The Blazers announced today they have signed veteran closer Bob Sandersonto a 2 year deal. This is a pitcher the Blazers have had their eye on for several seasons now. "We really like the way he attacks hitters. He has several quality pitches and he seems to really have a feel for what is working on a given day", said GM Callahan. The price tag was fairly high for a one inning guy. First year is $9.5m and the second is $8m. However, a team that is contending with the kind of cap room available that the Blazers have, it was really a no brainer. "We didn't want a lot of back and forth between Sanderson and other teams, so we put our best offer forward right off the bat", added Callahan.

The word around Montreal is the Blazers are not done adding. Several trade discussions have taken place with other teams, and the team has also been kicking the tires on some of the remaining free agents. There are of course no guarantees when it comes to signing free agents, but the team seems content with the offers they may have submitted.

i suppose you could do worse than adding a guy who has closed for the 3 Landis winning teams by the age of 30...

He's also just 27 saves shy of the top 10 all-time and on pace to pass 500 career saves quicker than Skip Glendenning
