Blazers Acquire Miranda - 2033

In their long search to acquire a left handed hitting catcher the Blazers hope they are finally able to call off the search. Although Jim Miranda hits from both sides he is a stronger left handed hitter. Over the last 4.5 seasons in Huntsville, Miranda has quietly been producing very good numbers. His 155 HR's, 272.AVG and an accumulated WAR of 19.9 are numbers that are hard to ignore. "We needed some more punch from the left side of the plate and Miranda is a guy that we have liked for a while now," said GM Callahan. His best year was in 2032 when Miranda hit .290 with 47 HR's and 107RBI's. Those are the types of numbers teams usually hope to get out of their DH. The fact that Miranda plays a premium position is a bonus.

The Blazers are in a very good spot to contend over the next several seasons as they have a good mix of youth and veterans producing for them, as well as some very good prospects at AAA New Jersey. It will be interesting to see if more moves are to come as the 2033 trade deadline is fast approaching.

Yep, that is the plan. Generally not too many AB's available for the right handed hitting platoon player. Can usually fill that cheaply.
