Hard Lesson Paying Off For Troop - 2033

Montreal

When Jubal Troop was called up from AAA New Jersey in mid season 2032, it wasn't necessarily because he had earned a promotion to Montreal, but rather out of necessity. The Blazers pitching staff was a mess in 2032 despite being in a playoff drive. There was really no other options for the Blazers. Typically not one to rush prospects, GM Callahan felt he had no other choice. "We were really thin at the ML and AAA level for pitching," said Callahan. It was a tough initiation for Troop. The fireballing lefty made 14 starts for the team. His win/loss record was more then respectable at 5-2. Thanks largely to the teams dynamic offense. With an ERA of 5.94 and a WHIP of 1.56, it was clear that he was rushed to the team.

Forward to 2033 and it would seem that Troop has learned a great deal from his 2032 season. At the mid way point of the season Troop has posted a 9-3 record with a stellar ERA of 2.88 which ranks him 3rd in the league. His 119 K's also rank him 2nd in the league. He is developing into the young ace the Blazers have been waiting years for. While not a traditional Blazers path to the ML's, it shows that certain players may have the ability to learn at the ML level what they cannot learn in AAA.
