Blazers Quiet at Deadline - 2032

Post by JohnC » Wed Oct 04, 2017 10:19 am

Montreal

Despite being within a couple of games of the Atlantic division, the Blazers did not add anyone at the trade deadline. "We had some discussion, but nothing really made sense for us", said Callahan. This team appears to be at a crossroad this season with several players lumping and a very high payroll. Rumors began to fly internally that management is considering total tear down. If that happens, it could be a very interesting offseason with players like Jared Gillstrom, Ettienne LaFitte, and Cisco Guerrero potentially being available. There is a thought by some within the organization that this current group of core players has had their chance to win, and despite how this season plays out, a teardown is likely. It may be a case where early in the offseason the Blazers start shopping some of their players, and if the return is good, then the floodgates would open. Current management has already been through a rebuild with some great success and is not afraid to go down that path again.

Whatever happens, it promises to be an exciting offseason in Montreal.

Wow. A rebuild would be surprising. But with all your talent, fruitful.

Ya, it is something I am considering. Will depend on how some things go after the season ends. I actually kinda like doing rebuilds.

I do too. It's nice to win, but the challenge is fun. I could of being an expansion team, but I wanted to see how quick I could make them a winner. Never been an expansion team, so I welcomed that challenge.
