Troop Get's The Call - 2032

In dire need of some stable pitching, the Blazers announced today that have called up their top prospect Jubal Troop from AAA. The hard throwing lefty, who's fastball averages 99-101MPH had been dominant at AAA New Jersey. Although he had only won 2 games, his other numbers were off the charts. He had only given up 38 hits in 50.2 innings with only 10BB's. That combined with his 69K's told management that maybe it was time to give him a shot at the ML level.

"The plan was to keep him in New Jersey for the entire season to have him work on his control, his changeup, well as try to get a little more movement on his pitches", said GM Callahan. Ah yes, that is where the worts are with Troop. His primary pitches are already as good as anyone at the ML level, but his changeup is a work in progress. The team is hoping that being left handed he will be able to overcome some of those things and give the team a shot in the arm it desperately needs. The former 1st round pick in 2028 could end up in the bullpen if he struggles as a starter where his two primary pitches could really play. "We would love to see him develop to his full potential and end up being a top of the rotation type guy. That is what we envision for him in the future", added Callahan.

Time will tell if Troop is ready for the rotation now or not, but regardless it sounds as though his time in the minor leagues have come to an end.
