Flores Suffers Another Setback - 2031

Montreal GM John Callahan was browsing the internet reading up on other teams news when he saw a short article cross the media wire which read:

Leon Flores was taking it slow and easy nursing elbow inflammation back to good health, when he suffered a setback. According to a Montreal team official, "León was making excellent progress and it appeared he would return to the squad ahead of schedule. But then he reinjured it in a light workout." Club doctors now say the 26-year-old Blazers starting pitcher will be out at least another 3-4 weeks.

Checking out his stats for the season, Flores has racked up 13 wins and 6 losses in 22 starts, 3.47 ERA and struck out 114 batters in 158 innings.

He immediately grabbed his cell phone and called team trainer Matt Hurley..

JC: "How the hell did this get to the media before it got to me?"
MH: "How did what?"
JC: "Don't play dumb with me. Flores...he suffered another setback?"
MH: "Yes sir, he can barely lift his arm at this point."
JC: "What kind of a trainer are you? Your reputation says you are decent, but I think that is a stretch. Don't you?"
MH "I don't believe in stretching sir."
JC: "We already have a staff full of scrubs and...

Click...Callahan hung up the phone. The Blazers gone 7-11 in their last 18 games have have fallen far off the division title. Only a wild card birth seems possible now..
