58.36 Huerta Notches Hit #3000

For the second time this week, a member of Montreal's roster of BBA elder statesmen reached an historic milestone, and the identical one, at that. Pedro Huerta only got one hit Sunday afternoon at Ubisoft Field, but it was a memorable one. For Huerta, his single was his 3000th hit.

"This is a bittersweet moment. When I was younger and dreamed of this, it was always part of a win. To earn this honor as part of a loss is very disappointing. Every game counts. We are battling to make the playoffs, and ideally, to win the division. Perhaps if I had more than one hit, we win the game.

"I know what it is like to win the Monty Brewster Memorial Series. I was fortunate to have played on two of Edmonton's championship teams. This is what I want for us. Last season, we came close. This season, I want us to win it all. To make that happen, every single game counts. I don't want to talk about individual accomplishments."
