57.23 Budding Reaches 2000 Hits Milestone

At today's postgame press conference, Blazer 1B/DH Aarnoud Budding had mixed emotions. He had a fabulous game, going 4 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored. One of those four hits was number 2000, putting him in pretty exclusive company. Unfortunately, the Blazers lost, blowing an early 3-0 lead and losing 11-3 in Charlotte.

"I can't get too excited about it. I suppose later on I'll appreciate it, but today we needed a win. The Flyers made sure that I got the ball, and I appreciate that. We're in a pennant chase, and every game is important. Honestly, I'd rather have gone 0 for 5 with a platinum sombrero if it meant that we got the W."
