Sticking Points 2051.2: Win Some, Lose Some

The Rockville Pikemen went 2-1 in the arbitration process, with the arbitrator siding with the team's offers for 3B Mike Galloway and P Neil Davies, but granting C Manuel Moreno a 2051 contract for $4,224,500 relative to the $3,000,000 offered by the club.

"We're thrilled to have Manuel back for another season," read a statement from the team. "He provides a key righthanded bat; is surprisingly fast for a catcher; and is improving in his ability to block hard sliders in the dirt, frame pitchers; and, you know, do other things expected of catchers."

As the team looks to break up the lineup's lefty-heavy lineup, Moreno is likely to see more time at DH, when the Pikemen face a lefthanded pitcher.

The return of Galloway at a reasonable price is welcome news for Pikemen players and fans. Depending on how Slade can manage the team's latest trip to cap hell, there's a chance he will be a part of the team's long-term future.
