Sticking Points 2034.5: Next Rookie Phenom named Puckett?
If it weren't enough for the Pikemen to go out and get Madison's first baseman and Madison's ace, the Pikemen might soon go get the son of one of the two faces of Madison's franchise and install him for the next decade at shortstop. Rockville drafted middle infielder Chip Puckett (who goes by "Chuckie") last season at the #4 spot, and the much younger Puckett simply dominated Rookie League action, hitting .313 with 30 stolen bases in 33 attempts and posting a 4.0 WAR in half a season of action.
"I know everyone's going to compare me to my dad, but while we're the same type of person we're very different ballplayers," said Puckett. "I mean, he's the greatest player in BBA history maybe, and I'm just a tyke."
Puckett is projected as one of the top fifteen prospects in the entire BBA, and will likely be linked to the draft class of 2032 as five of the top six draft picks in that draft are currently in the top 11 overall on the BBA prospect ranks. A slick-fielding shortstop right now, his arm strength might cause him to move to second base, where he might be a Yogi Zimmer-caliber defensive player.
"We're so thrilled to have Chuckie in the organization," said GM Aaron Weiner. "Just the bling factor of his dad gets people's attention, but he's the type of personality that makes other players play harder."

In my head he's like the last piece. he's almost icing on the cake, since Santiago Morales and Xuan by themselves are not a bad up the middle combo.

This guy should really be wearing a Wolves uniform. It only seems right!

Don't worry, he's still a Wolves fan. Wouldn't be surprised if he demanded a trade. Or if I ignored that request.7teen wrote:This guy should really be wearing a Wolves uniform. It only seems right!
